About

Hi, I'm Harrison Harper — building at the intersection of crypto policy and engineering, based in Washington, D.C.

My background is technical, but my focus has shifted to where the policy is actually being written. The regulatory architecture being built right now is the most consequential thing happening in this industry, and I want to help shape it.

Background

I grew up in Auburn, Alabama and studied Information Systems Management with a Computer Science minor at Auburn University. I picked up cybersecurity exposure through an internship at the McCrary Institute, where I supported research on cyber threats to critical energy and communications infrastructure. That was my first real introduction to the world where technology meets policy.

After graduating, I started Harper Web Services to build custom web applications and AI automation workflows for clients. On my own time, I built Pick5, a setlist prediction game for jam band fans that has 500+ users. I've also gone deep on Web3 development through Metana's Solidity bootcamp and Glyph Hash, an immutable audit logging tool on Hedera.

The shift towards policy happened gradually, then all at once. I've been passionate about crypto since 2019 — long before it was mainstream. I watched the industry grow from the ground up and then watched the SEC under the previous administration wage what felt like an all-out war on it — regulation by enforcement, no clear framework, just lawsuits and ambiguity. It was infuriating. The GENIUS Act in 2024 was the first sign that Congress was actually going to step in and write real rules. I started paying close attention. When the CLARITY Act passed the House in July 2025, the regulatory architecture was finally starting to take shape. I started tracking every amendment, every markup, every joint taxonomy update. That research turned into CoinCompliancy.

Now I'm in Washington, D.C., connecting with the crypto policy community and trying to contribute to the frameworks that will define this industry for the next decade.
